about

I started this song 20 years ago and stopped at the first verse. Then a couple years ago after being out of work for a while, the rest of it just flowed. Expensive song. But darn good.

lyrics

Listen To Your Heart

~verse~
Given one more chance to win your heart
Girl you know that's what I'll do
cause in all the time we've been apert
I never stopped lovin you

I don't blame you that you ran away
Hell, I'd have left me too
but I'm a better man today
Ready to prove myself to you

~chorus~
Come Home
I want you back

It'll be OK
Here in my lovin arms
You can find your way
Just listen to your heart

~verse~
You know a man don't feel he's half a man
when he's go no work to do
And it hit me pretty hard back then
and I took it out on you

But I can see so clealy now
Love I couldn't see back then
and I'm praying that somehow
you'll take me back again

~chorus~
Come Home
I need you back

It'll be OK
Here in my lovin arms
You can find your way
Just listen to your heart

~bridge~
Your Heart can show you what your mind can't know
Your Heart can lead you where you need to go
Your heart can recognize its own true friend
and bring you home again

~verse~
When we were young we made mistakes
That's what young people do
We thought the world was ours to take
But we learned that's just not true

Now I see what really matters
Ain't what a man can do
Instead it's how much love he gives
helping others to love too

~chorus~
Come Home
Let's get it back

It'll be OK
In each other's arms
You can find your way
Just listen to your heart
