about

A simple tune honoring the romance of a desert evening.
I wrote this tune to honor my Bride's birthday which just happened to coincide with the appearance of our super-moon, "blood moon" lunar eclipse captured wonderfully by Arizona photographer "Scrolling Stone" for the track's artwork. Such a scene deserves a song!

lyrics

Arizona Moon - copyright 2015 Darrell Elmer Rodgers

The desert sun is almost gone
in a turquoise amber glow
The desert moon is rising
like it's time to start the show

We'll take a stroll down desert trails
to our favorite rendezvous
And hear mother nature's music play
as only lovers do

The crickets chirp the rhythm
a tiny Rock Wren sings the tune
And I hold you tight as we dance tonight
'neath the Arizona Moon

[Whistling or other instrumental]

In our bliss, we'll steal a kiss
making ol' coyote swoon
As I hold you tight and we dance tonight
'neath the Arizona Moon

Twinkling stars dance with us
in the glow of our desert moon
Mesquite and Palo Verde swinging
gently to the tune

We don't have a dance floor
but the desert fills the part
and who needs a band to play
when the song is in your heart?

The crickets chirp the rhythm
a tiny Rock Wren sings the tune
And I hold you tight as we dance tonight
'neath the Arizona Moon

we've only got the evening
and morning comes too soon
So hold me tight and we'll dance tonight
'neath the Arizona Moon
Yes hold me tight and we'll dance tonight
'neath the Arizona Moon!
